Start your Sunday (Nov 8) off right in downtown Grand Rapids, with an entree and choice of drink at Grand Rapids Brewing Co. and a ticket to a screening of A Face in the Crowd at the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts. You’ll meet up with Christian Gaines (ArtPrize Executive Director) at GRBC at 11:00am to discuss his film selection over brunch. Then, it’s just a quick jaunt up Fulton for a 1:00pm screening in UICA’s 195-seat, state-of-the-art digital, Dolby© certified theater.
$20.00 ticket includes: Brunch entrée, one drink, a film lecture, complimentary admission to UICA galleries, and a film screening at UICA.
Tickets must be purchased at Grand Rapids Brewing Company.
Admission to see the film without the brunch and lecture component is just $4 for UICA Members and $8 for Non-members. Tickets to the film can be purchased at UICA's Guest Services desk.
Ambitious young radio producer Marcia Jeffries (Patricia Neal) finds a charming rogue named Larry "Lonesome" Rhodes (Andy Griffith) in an Arkansas drunk tank and puts him on the air. Soon, Rhodes' local popularity gets him an appearance on television in Memphis, which he parlays into national network stardom that he uses to endorse a presidential candidate for personal gain. But the increasingly petulant star's ego, arrogance and womanizing threaten his rise to the top.
