Art educator, storyteller, and lover of scotch, Miranda hails from a small farming community in Michigan, and enjoys hand sewing and life-endangering camping trips. Miranda works to create partnerships in the arts and business communities, while steering the UICA ship towards its mission.
DJ MC Cognac
Megan enjoys the connections and energy that come from keeping operations in line while she's at UICA, and the contrast of mountain wilderness when she's away. A KCAD graduate with an extensive customer service background, she looks forward to showing you what UICA Membership is all about.
DJ The Commissioner
Kristen is happiest connecting the business, cultural, and creative communities in Grand Rapids, her new home. Previously, she researched dolphins and people, published essays and columns, and ran a multi-channel retail store. She cooks and reads a little compulsively, often at the same time.
DJ The Doctor
As the Exhibitions Preparator at UICA, Brandon Alman is a Jack of All Trades, Master of Some. He can often be found painting, hanging art, setting lights or helping plan installations. When not in the office, Brandon is usually shooting pool at a local bar, or off the grid, backpacking.
Community Programs Coordinator
Throughout Kenny’s career, he has served as a conduit between diverse constituencies, affecting positive social change within the community at large. In his spare time, he enjoys photo editing, where he transforms vintage black and white photos to colorful works of art.
Nick is a simple guy who loves cinema, heavy metal, and skateboarding. If he isn’t in a dark room watching movies, you can find him at his favorite Grand Rapids watering hole. Nick graduated with a degree in Film and Video from Grand Valley State University, and uses his knowledge to bring the best selection of films to the Grand Rapids community at the UICA Theater.
Rental and Events Coordinator
Aly enjoys how the dynamic spaces and artwork at UICA let her get creative in planning our events, and those of our clients. She loves being in the water, and traveling to new places at least once a year. Aly comes to UICA with a background in event planning, communications, broadcasting, and the cinematic arts.
Retail and Guest Services Assistant
Inspired by day-to-day interactions with visitors, Jacqueline is always glad to have a chat with everyone walking in the door. When she is not searching for new work for UICA's shop, you can find her throwing porch parties, playing cello with a local string ensemble, or shopping for ingredients for her latest culinary adventure. Jacqueline holds a B.S. in Photography from GVSU.
Audio & Video Technician
Brandon earned his BFA in Drawing from KCAD, and now supervises the technology in the UICA Film Theater. A nerd at heart, Brandon spends his time working on video projects and playing chess. He has shown in art and film festivals around the world, and started the Open Projector Film Series at UICA to help bring together filmmakers in West Michigan.
Anjalika Lobo puts her creative and professional efforts into coordinating and nurturing UICA's Open Projector Night film series, which gives Michigan filmmakers a venue and an audience for their own work. She attended Grand Valley State University and studied film and video. Anjalika is currently directing her third short film.
