About the Exhibition

Color of the Year Presented by Pantone and X-Rite
April 6 - July 29

The PANTONE® Color of the Year is a symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.

Color of the Year is a group exhibition of original art works each utilizing the 2018 PANTONE® Color of the Year, 18-3838 Ultra Violet, as a major component of execution or as a point of departure.

The show also explores the influence that fine art has on color use in the realms of fashion, interiors, and industrial design. Color of the Yearleads viewers on a journey from inspiration to realization with work by local, national, and international artists.

In addition to original works of art, Color of the Year will also feature examples of design work by local, national, and international artists and artisans, with a focus on Michigan-based design and manufacturing.

Individuals with disabilities who require accommodations should contact Megan Bylsma, Associate Director, at 616.454.7000 x11 or at least 72 hours in advance.
