UICA provides students with project-based learning opportunities to work within a specific department. Availability for these positions is based on the needs of individual departments within the limitations of staff, space, exhibition schedules, and the varying potential for challenging intern projects. UICA’s hiring committee considers candidates with interests in several areas of the institution, including membership and development, education and community events, exhibitions, volunteer and docent programs, marketing and communications, and special events. UICA selects a diverse group of talented students from a highly competitive pool of applications.
Selected candidates and direct supervisors will establish a standardized schedule to meet weekly hour expectations. Interns must be available to work during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
